Spring Onion

Spring onions, also called scallions, have long green hollowed stems with a white bulb. The green leaves have a mild onion flavour, whilst the white sections have a more intense taste. They are incredibly easy to use and extremely versatile. In Thailand, chopped spring onions are commonly added to omelette, vegetable stir-fry, or served on the side with Phad Thai Noodle and Khao Moo Daeng (Char Siu Rice). Spring onion is rich in Vitamin K and is a good source of Vitamin C, A and folate. It is known to help with blood clotting, lower blood sugar level, boost immunity, fight cancer, and improve the cardiovascular system.
