Eggplant Small Green

Eggplant small green, also called Makhuea Phuang, is pea-sized eggplant that are clustered together like grapes with short stems. This eggplant is often cooked whole in Thai red and green curries, and is indispensible in a chilli paste called Nam Phrik Kapi. The outer skin will pop upon being bitten, releasing a burst of slight bitterness that compliments well with the heat and richness of the dishes. Eggplant small green contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 as well as calcium, potassium, phospherous and iron. It is known to help treat sore throat, manage diabetes, aid digestion, and has anti-cancer property.
