Chive is a member of the same allium family as garlic, shallots and leaks. The stalks are thin and hollow, and extremely tender. Chive is high in fibre and folate, the latter of which is essential in growth and devolopment, and is also an excellent source of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, copper and manganese.
